General ideas, historical information and main
tasks for international contest "Козацька слава"(Cosack’s honor) on VHF/UHF
General ideas of
the contest "Козацька
слава"(Cosack’s Honor contest) are:

Honoring memory of Ukrainian cosacks;

To make better known Ukrainian
traditions for foreign participants;
-
To make more experience to
provide QSO with Ukraine;
-
Development VHF and UHF
HAM-equipment ;
-
Having fun for all
participants of the contest
One of the
goal for this contest is
making the addition possibility for HAMs to
get some Ukrainian awards and perform special award program
"Україна козацька".
Also,this contest is
supposed to help for beginners
to get more
experience in VHF and UHF.
Saint Pokrova(14th October) was the biggest
celebration for Ukrainian cosacks.
They
get together on their place near river Dnipro known
as Zaporizhs’ka Sich.
This
time besides celebration, they also voted for new commanders, known as Otamans.
There
were otamans (in accordance for responsibility) ; Koshovy, Polkovy,
Kurinny.
Sotnic is
commander of one hundred cosacks.
Another
Ukrainian leader among cosacks was Hetman.
Then
again, the COSACK’s HONOR contest is as if imitation
of this yearly election.
Winner
in each defined category gets honor to be one of “commanders”
, so where name for each subcategories were taken from.
That
is explanation why the date for this contest chosen second weekend of October.
Contest
duration is from 16-00 Saturday to 04-00 Sunday,12
hours.
All territory
of Ukraine those days was
divided in military kind to
regiments(polks). Each polk was
consisted of some coorines. Polks and coorines
were called by their domestic
cities names coming from.
So,
we are trying to make an equal conditions for participants of VHF/UHF contest propagation about, therefore
been solved to divide pretty large
in the way of HAM
useful kind but not in accordance to historical truth.
That makes equal conditions to participants and allow to use domestic multipliers for
this contest. Also, that
makes contest more interesting.
Participants
from Ukraine:
1)Defined
subgroup: "Гетьман"( HETMAN)
(the highest level of difficulty
)
As a
Hetman might become only cosack with large amount of
masters, lucky, well trained cosack’s commander ,
so Hetman will stay
winner in the most difficult group.
Each
participant works in all bands with all kind of defined modulations,
/CW-SSB-FM-DIGI/

2) Defined subgroup: "Кошовий" (KOSHOVY)
(high
level of difficulty)
Koshovy Otaman was a commander of southern cosacks
on the Sich.
So,
there is another high level subgroup , where
participants also use all bands and mostly modulations besides DIGI , /CW-SSB-FM/.

3) Defined subgroup: "Полковий" (POLKOVY)
Participants
in subgroup POLKOVY(colonel) use all bands but for them counted two kind
of modulation CW and FM .

is monoband subgroup (
Participants

is getting the honor to

Cosacks had made an
outposts to defend theire cities and to
prevent enemies attacks,
So in accordance to legend of this contest multyoperator
category is named outpost ( in ukrainian
– zastava).
The participants use all bands and kinds of modulation /CW-SSB-FM-DIGI/

Foreigner participants are geographically situated close to Ukrainian
border divided by them defined
territories in accordance to make

every defined category, so that
increases conformability and is honestly for everyone.
Foreigner
participants geographically situated far to Ukrainian border are in one general
defined territory - worldwide
, there is also approximately equal propagation conditions.
Foreigner
participants may use all kinds of modulation.
